Charles S. Grant

Having covered some relatively small actions in Volume 1 of Refighting History Volume 2 examines some larger battles. The battles in question come from the War of the Austrian Succession and more specifically the First Silesian War.
The first battle is something of a wargame classic - Mollwitz. The Grant’s first Mollwitz wargame is coved with an excerpt from The War Game describing how it was first fought back in 1968. The battle is then revisited and with quite different results. There is then “A slice of Mollwitz” looking at only one particular part of the same battle.
The second battle, Chotusitz, is rather less well known and took place the year after Mollwitz. The battle includes an unusual twist but you will have to read it to discover what it is.
The third battle is the rather obscure battle of Sahay. This battle required quite a lot of detective work and no small amount of conjecture. The end result is a most interesting action.
In addition to the battles there is an update on Charles’ wargame armies and a section on battlefield manoeuvre in the mid eighteenth and its implications for wargaming."
...
My shopping list is growing (and getting out of hand!).
Cheers
