Another enjoyable game to continue our learning of HoW. An assortment of pics. French battle line; Bercheny Hussars; nasty left flank cav encounter-the Greys all but gone, Blues also getting whacked, and the tough Cuirassiers du Roi are throwing 5's, clearly; British cav brigade; French infantry on show; Brit battle lines-need to dress those lines!; victorious French CinC ready to be packed away.
Thank you for the kind comments. Actually my painting style is very simple. I call it painting by numbers. There's virtually no shading, dry brushing, washing or inking. Just tidy and consistent so that the black lining effect shows through. Great for painting an army of 450+ figures in reasonable time. For command figs I put in a little more effort. This was a training game exercise hence the lack of terrain other than woods on flanks and some token buildings. We are still working through the mechanics. My opponent had never played HoW and liked it a lot. We will def be having a re-match so my Allied army can re-deem itself.
French vs Allied is the way to go. So many colourful units and nationalities. Nice change from Prussian Blue, white or green (in the case of Russia - red for summer). For me it's all about the flags. If the flags look great, I have to paint that unit! I have two more units to complete my Hessian/Brunswicker Bde. Then it's either a Scottish or Irish unit for the French over Christmas. Their flags are amazing.
