Just wanting confirmation that I am doing this correctly. Am I correct in judging artillery automatically destroyed if caught to rear or flank by enemy cavalry after they the artillery have moved their maximum movement that turn.?
If unlimbered, the artillery have a chance to fight back if they manage to turn and face - in particular, they will be able to fire canister at the cavalry as they charge in. If they do not turn to face, their chances of survival are slim to zero. They may manage to inflict a hit or 2 against the cavalry before succumbing if they are lucky.
