so, map and OOBs are identical, thank you Damnitz!
I used Austrian and French national characteristics.
I was more happy when I read Damnitz's research about what French regiments participated in this battle. They all were German regiments. To my joy, it happens to have in my 15mm collection battalions from La Marck, Bentheim, Royal Suedois and Royal Baviere, so it was plausible to use all blue-clad French regiments as French and my white-clad French regiments as Austrian (unfortunately I do not own an Austrian army). I could make it up with all the rest units involved - cavalry, artillery and some Grenzers I have.
I tried to lure my friend Doc Vag to the game, he is a seasoned wargamer, so I decided to let him swim in deeper waters, proposing him this scenario.
I would take the task to play the French
Here is the battlefield, viewed from the French side. On the hills the French and Palatinate infantry. On the plain, near Scheyern village, five small inferior Franch cavalry regiments (two bases each). Opposite, four standard Austrian cavalry regiments and far left the rest of the Austrian infantry. In the wooded area at the left French flank are lurking two small Grenz battalions and at the right flank of the French cavalry on small Grenz battalion and one small Hussar regiment.
With a double move, the Grenzers appear behind the Palatinate contingent, I only managed to turn the second battalion about. Their position was already vulnerable and they were in danger to be caught by the oncoming Austrian infantry. I made a charge to the woods, not without consequences, the Grenzers send a shot, then evaded, letting the second Palatinate battalion with three hits (blue pebble=1 hit, amber pebble=2 hits).
A very bad start for the French, as next round I wanted to move the Palatinate brigade sideways, far from the main Austrian army, but I brought a 1
The situation near the table road exit. Three intact French battalions and one battalion and my battery with four hits. If I had two more rounds, I could have earned at least 4 scenario points and claim a draw...
