The British get crazy - perhaps too much motivation by captain Gin!
Pulteney's charged and got 3 hits.
Contades decided to use the 1st bn. of Navarre to charge the King's Regiment.
I knew that Rothes reinforcements were arriving and I ordered the fusiliers de la Morlière to pin the croats and pandours at the stream. I had the hope to get Montagne advancing and attacking the Austrian light infantry in flank and rear.
The 1st batallion of Navarre had to retreat with 4 hits, but the King's Regiment get 3 hits and was not fit to face Contades bn.s again.
The Pulteney's were defeated - no surprise after receiving 3 hits before.
Ségur just had to stay where he was. But all attemps to occupy the redoubt became really unlikely. Montagne's dragoons advanced too late. When the first of his Regiments crossed the stream, it was attacked by the Austrian hussars.
Before the Fighting at my left wing started my Regiment La Fère destroyed the last British batallion.
La Fère was shot in the flank by the Austrian light troops and had to retreat.
The dragoons had advanced too far and although firing sucessfully at their opponents they were destroyed by the hussars.
That was the final move of the game, which ended in a draw although the British lost 2 of his finest batallions and I just one unit. But nightfall came…
Nice battle - small with 3 brigades per side. Fought in 1 1/2 hour perfect a sunday's afternoon.
Es marschierten drei Regimenter wohl über den Rhein...
